How do I choose the study?

Step 1: Discover what suits you

Easy to say, a lot harder done. But: it is very important to find out which study suits you. For example, ask yourself the following questions to find out more about which study suits you:
·       What am I good at? And what makes me happy?
·       What are my favorite subjects and which subjects go or went well?
·       What type of education suits me?
·       What are my strengths and what am I less good at?
·       What do you expect from the student life and what do you find important?
·       How do you see yourself in five or ten years?
Write down your answers and supplement them if necessary. You have now identified a number of important things that will help you in your Search for your studies.

Step 2: Your ideal bachelor

Make a selection of the courses that appeal to you. This selection can be quite large, then you just go through it again and you turn a long list into a shortlist.
Tip: you can also make a study choice test to help you on your way.

Step 3: Refine your options by looking up extra information

You now have a number of courses on your list that may be interesting, but do you already know enough about, for example, the courses you will receive? You can now take a closer look at this information. And don't forget to also look at the cities where the courses are given. Do you see yourself living and studying there?
Tip: visit the open days of the universities that appeal to you. This way you can taste the atmosphere and ask questions to students or advisors.

Step 4: Compare your options

Now that you know what is possible, it's time to make a choice. Write down what appeals to you about a study program (and whatnot). Also, note what admission requirements apply and when the registration deadline is.
Tip: follow a web class or become a student for a day and walk with a current student. Or contact iDreamCareer who will gladly help you with your latest questions or doubts.

Step 5: Register and match!

Even if you still have some final doubts, because you can register for four studies. After your registration, you will receive an invitation for a matching activity. Here you can check whether your study choice actually suits you. Every study program has its own matching program.

Plan B: with a numerus fixus

You can enroll nationally for a maximum of two courses with a numerous fixes. If your first choice is such an education, then it is smart to have a plan B. What will you do if you are not part of the decentralized selection of your favorite bachelor? If you do not have a plan B in terms of study, or if you do not yet know it completely, you can think about a possible interim year.
